1. Windows 2000

Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add/Remove Hardware.
Click Add/Troubleshoot a device, and then click Next.
Click Add a new device, and then click Next.
Click No, I want to select the hardware from a list, and then click Next.
Click Network adapters, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturers box, click Microsoft.
In the Network Adapter box, click Microsoft Loopback Adapter, and then click Next.
Click Finish.


2. Windows XP

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
If you are in Classic view, click Switch to Category View under Control Panel in the left pane.
Double-click Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Next.
Under See Also in the left pane, click Add Hardware,and then click Next.
Click Yes, I have already connected the hardware, and then click Next.
At the bottom of the list, click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next.
Click Network adapters, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturer box, click Microsoft.
In the Network Adapter box, click Microsoft Loopback Adapter, and then click Next.
Click Finish.

3. Windows 2003

In Control Panel, double-click Add Hardware, and then click Next
Click Yes, I have already connected the hardware, and then click Next.
At the bottom of the Installed hardware list, click Add a new hardware device, and then click Next.
Click Install the hardware that I manually select from a list, and then click Next
In the Common hardware types list, click Network adapters, and then click Next.
In the Manufacturers list box, click Microsoft.
In the Network Adapter list box, click Microsoft Loopback Adapter, and then click Next.
Click Next to start installing the drivers for your hardware.
Click Finish.
Click Start, click Settings, and then click Network Connections to verify that the Microsoft Loopback Adapter has been installed.

4. Windows Vista

On the host operating system go to ‘Control Panel’
Go to ‘Add Hardware’
In the ‘Add Hardware’ wizard, click ‘Next’
When the ‘Is the hardware connected?’ page appears, select ‘Yes, I have already connected the hardware’, and then click ‘Next’
In the ‘Installed hardware’ list, select ‘Add a new hardware device’ and then click ‘Next’
In the ‘What do you want the wizard to do?’ list, select ‘Install the hardware that I manually select from a list (Advanced)’, and then click ‘Next’
In the ‘Common hardware types’ list, click ‘Network adapters’, and then click ‘Next’
In ‘Manufacturer’ list, select ‘Microsoft’
In the ‘Network Adapter’ list, select ‘Microsoft Loopback Adapter’, and then click ‘Next’ twice
In the ‘Completing the Add Hardware Wizard’ page, click ‘Finish’
